I do encourage you to first attempt clearing the space yourself by using a smudge of your choosing. Some popular selections include white sage, cedar or sweetgrass (as recognized in smudging ceremonies by indigenous, First Nations and Native Americans), Palo Santo (Mexico and South America), Frankincense or Myrrh (used in many sacred religious rites and pagan rituals) or Sandalwood (used in meditative and temple rites throughout Asia). Do consider your supply sources and please try to find ethically sourced alternative materials whenever possible.
Clearing & Consecration
Like our energetic bodies, our physical space is a Portal. Prone to wounds of transgression and intrusion from negative energy — imprints of pain and emotional discord from traumas, disruptive events and prolonged cycles or abuse and misuse — the thick residue of these quakes may barricade and burden the natural flow of energy within the space as well as influence your health, emotions and interpersonal relationships.
Your home, business, creation space or personal sanctuary are all places where you and those that you care about should feel safe and secure — encouraging creativity, balance, happiness —the foundation of success, promoting strong relationships and general well-being. In presenting a heart-forward offering of love to your space (and the beings that move through it) with my spirit guides, aids and a trusted process — Honour Thy Lovers can channel and transmute the influence of these negative energies. Effectively cleansing your space through ceremony involving awakening an altar with rhythmic sound, focused meditation, prayer, smudging and healing scent circuits.
Clearing & Consecration can lift and lay to rest adverse or volatile energy within a space that may be limiting or restricting the creative/emotional/energetic flow - essentially replanting seeds of growth and calling forward a boundary of positive intention to ‘bless and protect’ the area enclosed by that boundary.
Divine Union & Ouroboros
The marvel of manifesting genuine love is rarely the expression of fantasy. Rather, more akin to a gladiator’s training ground, it is learning how to navigate a rigorous gauntlet of understanding an ‘other’. Embracing the process of learning how to walk the scarred lines of past wounds and triumphs with grace — but more often than not — with humility, a deep well of patience, measured judgement (or alternately, no judgement) and the willingness to stay open. As much with yourself, as with others.
Embracing the dualities...the juxtapositions. Accepting the rich with the raw, the low with the luxurious, the imperfection with the moments of pure perfection —and it is in the balance of these playful (and painful) contrasts that make the bonds what they are. Strong, heavy, and imbued with the fullness of confronting truths that can only be warmed by the fire emanating from a coming together of skins.
The Divine Union & Ouroboros Ceremonies are, respectively, bespoke ceremonial approaches to celebrating the coming together of souls and the birthing/departure of souls. As these monoliths of life are deeply beholden to our cultures and experiences, there is no set way to walk this path. Instead, each ceremonial engagement is composed openly, to embrace the magnitude and gestation of these forms of becoming.
Uncommon Ground
Kinship collaborations, public presentations and exhibition spaces were the first forums to nurture exchange and unveiling of HTL as a therapeutic art practice and, following, a ceremonial practice. Just like myself, the ceremonies were born between realms. In the liminal space. The untold. There was a need for a force to bridge the gap and necessity bred evolution. This is my true home. Listening in pure resonance and intuition.
