Nuit de Resistance — In Touch

An ongoing sensory immersion and photographic series exploring shifting perspectives toward nature as both a meditation on relationships of modern society and confrontation of intuitive vision loss through social dissociation.

2nd Edition

Conceptually, NdR and In Touch are generative, performance-based pieces and platforms to invite a broader consciousness to collaborate in the creation of an ongoing talismanic healing session through immersion — incorporating sensory triggers such as rhythmic touch, scent diffusion, texture, and visual stimuli co-creating and environment of subversive meditation and energetic feedback.

The act of sharing touch, and the resulting effect following the experience, is a direct reaction to the insular nature of traditional artistic presentation, which is too often confined to the apparatus of individual viewer meeting individual canvas. During this experience, the expression is forged with the audience. In turn, co-creating a piece of living art that the viewer /participant can capture INTERNALLY and further articulate once personalized and marked with their own integration, interpretations and future actions.

Manifesting in Paris in the form of kaleidoscopic floral portraits and hand painted photographs juxtaposed with the altar of the urban environment (Pont de Bir-Hakeim). Le Pont was designed by the same architect - Jean-Camille Formigé - who designed iconic French greenhouse the Jardin de Serres, which houses many of the florals that were portrait subjects within this project. Here, in creating a connective link between ‘person’ and ‘parent’, the bridge becomes a passage for homecoming. The images served as a lush and layered landscape that the audience was invited to step “into” — through plumes of a floral smoke bath — and to leave floral offerings to memory/home during the presentation of talismanic meditation.

All images created manually in camera using a series of hand built lenses. Digital and analog.
